FIQH LEARNING COURSE

Fiqh (فقه‎) is the Islamic legal system that governs the practical aspects of Muslim life. It is derived from the Quran and the Sunnah (teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad) and is based on the principles of Islamic jurisprudence. Fiqh covers a wide range of topics including worship, family law, commerce, finance, and politics.

Fiqh is concerned with how Muslims should conduct themselves in their daily lives and how they should interact with each other and with non-Muslims. It provides guidelines for ethical behavior and for the avoidance of sinful actions.

Islamic scholars use various methods to derive rulings on particular issues of Fiqh, including studying the Quran and Hadith, examining the opinions of previous scholars, and using analogy and reasoning to derive new rulings. The main schools of Islamic jurisprudence are the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali schools, each of which has its own set of principles and methodologies for deriving rulings on Fiqh issues.

Fiqh is an important aspect of Islamic education and is taught in Islamic schools and universities around the world. It is also studied by individuals who wish to deepen their understanding of Islamic law and practice.

Literally the word ‘Fiqh’ means to know, to understand, and to grasp something. The term ‘Fiqh’ is associated with the ability of acquiring the Islamic sciences and having deep understanding of the faith. Jurisprudence is all about the understanding through logic and arguments whether some action is ‘Farz, Wajib, Mustahab, Mubah’, forbidden or undesirable.
